I went out this morning apprehensively to check on Luanne and her (self) diagnosed pneumonia. It was a pleasant surprise to see her up on her feet and looking around. When I went in and the first thing I saw was that the lump on her jaw had burst and was actively oozing. Gross – but a good thing for her. I also saw that she had eaten – another good sign.
I gave her the 3rd shot of Pen Pro G and let her out into her little paddock. I’ll keep her in there for 2 more days and keep up the penicillin.
Luanne now has a very reluctant paddock mate – Zorro the Lop Eared Llama. We decided to force the bonding issue and shooed him into her paddock last night. He’ll now be penned up with her for the next few days. He’s soooooooo not happy about it. He’s actually cuddling up to humans to “save” him from that fierce, scary, bleating little lamb thing!
Calf, goat and ram all are doing fine. I feel like the Pied Piper of the Farm whenever I go into their pasture because they follow me around 1, 2, and 3.
