Spreading the “Farm Love”

We are serious about sharing our farm with others.  I can not tell you how many impromptu tours we’ve given when families or people come by.  Here is a link from a few lovely families who set up a visit with us for their 3 toddlers.  And, BTW, Mom was a great photographer!  http://seattlewithtoddlers.blogspot.com/2012/09/farmer-for-day-at-rolling-bay-farm.html

How serious are we about this farm sharing?  I’ve contacted all the Waldorf schools in a 50 mile radius.  Why?  Because they have as part of their curriculum a “wool” lesson.  My offer to them was to come out on shearing days to learn about the process and skirting wool.

One has already called me back and I laid out what sort of experience we could provide.  As we were wrapping up the conversation she asked “what would be the fee for this?”

Ummm, it’s free…

Every time I’ve shared or given away my knowledge it’s come back to me ten fold in a positive way. Self serving and philanthropic?  Why not!
