Today our li’l Peanut found a new home at Fox Hollow Farm. They are a family farm that runs farm tours, events and an equestrian center. They were looking for a bottle fed ram and I was looking to sell Peanut prior to weaning and lessen my bottle feeding routine. They came out to see him and tour our place.
It was great to meet them, introduce them to the AWESOME world of Finnsheep and learn about how they run their agritourism based business. It is interesting to talk and learn from another small farm and how they are living their farm dream. Like us, they enjoy going to other farms and seeing another set up. You always see something new, an idea to mull over, a new breed of animal to appreciate and a new farmer friend made!
Mark had actually brought up the concept to me the other day about hosting agri-events. It is another way to reach people and involve them in a farm related experience. Any day and in any way you can get a child to pet a sheep or a grandma to reminisce about raising chickens is a good day! It means you’ve made a connection.
A for those of you into stats; Peanut started out 3 weeks ago weighting 3.6 pounds and today weighted in at a whopping 11.15 pounds

I love the markings on your little ram! It looks like he’s headed to a really nice home!
